CURRENTLY_UNDER_CONSTRUCTION Die Akzeptanz einer Monitoring-Lösung steht und fällt mit dem Aufwand, der betrieben werden muss, um diese Monitoring-Lösung zu warten und pflegen. Eine zentrale Konfigurationsmöglichkeit ist Voraussetzung für den effizienten Einsatz einer solchen Lösung.

Configuration Wizard
Setup wie eine „normale“ Anwendung
Impulsus isymon® wird installiert wie jede andere Anwendung auch. Beispielsweise unter Windows™ starten Sie „setup.exe“ und geben an wohin isymon® mit welchen Komponenten installiert werden soll.
Konfiguration in 3 Schritten über einen Assistenten
Nach dem ersten Start des Configurator erscheint ein Configuration Wizard. Dieser Assistent führt Sie schnell durch die wichtigsten Einstellungen.
Klare Gliederung des Systems
Der Configurator gliedert sich in die Teile Monitoring (Configurations)
und Notifications. Constraints können direkt an die gewünschten Module
angehängt werden und werden in jeder Ansicht angezeigt.
Jeder Benachrichtigungsweg (E-Mail, SMS, SNMP usw.) verfügt über einen
eigenen Konfigurationsbereich.
Configurator: Logische und einfache Benutzeroberfläche
Impulsus isymon® bringt in allen Editionen einen grafischen Configurator mit. Alle Einstellungen zu Monitoring, Filtering und Benachrichtigungswegen werden über den Configurator komfortabel und leicht verständlich vorgenommen. Der Configurator ist einfach zu bedienen und übersichtlich.
Synchronisation
Impulsus isymon® unterstützt die Synchronisation sowohl per „push“ als auch
per „pull“. Das bedeutet, dass die Agents sich einerseits die Konfiguration
automatisch bei jedem Start abholen können. Andererseits kann die
Synchronisation der Einstellungen auch vom Server aus (über den Configurator)
gestartet werden - für alle Agents oder nur für ausgewählte Agents.
Synchronisation Dialog
Der Synchronisation Dialog gibt schnell einen Überblick darüber, welche Agenten zuletzt wann Ihre Einstellungen mit dem Server abgeglichen haben.

Server aktualisieren und Knopf drücken oder einfach abwarten
Ist Impulsus isymon® erst einmal auf einem System eingerichtet, so kann es vom Impulsus isymon® Server aus einfach aktualisiert werden.
Durch die von Impulsus entwickelte isyupdate® Technologie werden nach einem Update der Software am Server die Aktualisierungen auf Wunsch an alle angeschlossenen Systeme verteilt.
Alternativ können Sie auch einfach abwarten. Bei jedem Neustart der Agent-Software wird automatisch geprüft, ob am Server neue Software vorliegt und diese automatisch installiert.
Selbstverständlich wird dabei darauf geachtet, nicht zu viel Last auf dem Netzwerk zu erzeugen.

Impulsus isyupdate® informiert Sie zu jedem Zeitpunkt über die installierte Softwarebasis auf den angeschlossenen Systemen, über den Updateerfolg sowie über den Status von isyupdate® und isymon® auf den Systemen.
mpulsus isymon® comes with the following components:
1. Impulsus isymon® Server: the server application for the Impulsus isymon® system. Holds the configuration, communicates with Agents, synchronizes data and communicates with Impulsus isyupdate®. Typically runs as a service (Windows™) or daemon (UNIX™/Linux). Also comes as a command line application; only one of both can be used: service or command line version.
2. Impulsus isymon® Agent: the local monitoring application. Typically runs as a service (Windows™) or daemon (UNIX™/Linux). Runs the monitors, communicates with the server application, sends messages via E-Mail, SMS, SNMP, OPC or to the Impulsus isymon® Server. Also comes as a command line application; only one of both can be used: service or command line version.
3. Impulsus isyupdate® lite: Software distribution mechanism. Automatically updates the Impulsus isymon® Agent installations on the connected Agents. Also called “Impulsus ISD client”.
4. Impulsus isymon® Configurator: the configuration application for Impulsus isymon®. Setup all configuration tasks including Monitors, Constraints, Notifications. Configures the Impulsus isymon® Server. Can be used to browse Impulsus isymon® logfiles.
5. Impulsus isymon® Preferences Editor: sets the necessary configuration information on the Impulsus isymon® Agent systems. Defines the communication between Impulsus isymon® Agent systems and Impulsus isymon® Server. Most important information: Server-Name/Server-IP and synchronization passwords. Can be used to browse Impulsus isymon® logfiles.
6. Impulsus isymon® Event Viewer: is started as a taskbar application if any non GUI isymon Application is started. It notifies the user of any Impulsus isymon® error messages, by opening a window.

System availability cross-check - Impulsus isymon® Monitor
Impulsus isymon® supports cross-checking your systems for availability. In order to ensure, that the relevant persons get informed even if a whole system is completely down, Impulsus isymon® can check other systems over the network. If one of these systems are no longer reachable, Impulsus isymon® sends an alert.
Notification Redundancy and Priorities
Impulsus isymon® supports multi-path notifications. Each notification type (SNMP, e-Mail, SMS) supports multiple servers for notification. If the server with the highest priority does not respond correctly, Impulsus isymon® tries to send the notification using the next lower priority server. You can also define multiple servers with identical priorities in order to send the notification in parallel.
Automatic Software Updates for Impulsus isymon Agents - powered by Impulsus isyupdate®
Impulsus isymon® supports automatic software updates for the Impulsus isymon® Agent installations (depends on the license-type). Impulsus isymon® Agent Update Packages can be loaded into the "Configurator" and can be distributed by clicking one button. The Impulsus isymon® Agents will be automatically restarted during the update process.
